Where is ./user/lib ????

Post by James Steele »

Well hell... I need to install something on my Mac, and I'm not a Unix geek and can't figure out how the heck I'm supposed to install a file to:

./user/lib

Is that under my user director and in the Library or do I have to run the terminal to do this??? I'm not good with OSX obviously.

It's an invisible folder, James. But you can make it accessible in a Finder window by hitting Shift-Command-G or choosing "Go To Folder..." in the Finder's "Go" menu. Then type the following and hit Return:

/usr/lib/

Kind regards.

Careful James. Installing something in an invisible folder can be trouble. Are you SURE this is from a reliable source (like Frodo or Shooshie?)

I wouldn't install anything Monkey Man sent you...

Yeah... I took care of it. I had to use the Terminal app. I tried the GoTo folder thing and it did nothing. Maybe as a user I don't have enough access permissions or something.

You should have all access to your own computer. Apple discussions can be helpful at times. I assume you use that on occasion?
