How do I get 24bit recording?

How do I get 24bit recording?

I just got my DP5.12 update and there is no choice for bit depth -
I plugged in my new Traveler ( which shows in Audio/MIDI setup as 24bit ) but the recording is in 16 bit. The manual and addendum seems happy to say that it doesn't matter what the bit depth is.

I haven't recorded in 16bit for ten years. This MUST be simple.

Anyone?

Preferences/Audio Options/Audio File Defaults.
