Anybody else ever have this problem? Suddenly, MachFive can't see the MSI presets. I uninstalled and reinstalled everything (Mach Five version 1.2.3 and MSI version 1.1.3) to be sure, and still same problem. MachFive sees the MSI.M5b soundbank, but no presets show up. No sounds. Not even a list of instruments. It's as if MSI were an empty soundbank. But I verified all my MSI.dat aliases point to the correct place. Further, if I open up MSI as an instrument, all the sounds load fine. it's just when trying to load them in MachFive. Anybody?

I think to use the MSI sounds in MachFive v1, you have to have MSI 1.1.1 or earlier installed -- that is, MSI before it was a universal binary. I'm not sure where this was documented, but I think I remember seeing it in a readme or installer or something.
If you have MachFive v2, not sure what version of MSI needs to be installed; I have MSI 1.1.3 (the latest) and haven't tried any earlier versions.

"I don't see any method at all, sir."
AH! That could be it. I DID recently update to MSI 1.1.3. I will try to downgrade today and see if that works. Thanks for the info.carrythebanner wrote:I think to use the MSI sounds in MachFive v1, you have to have MSI 1.1.1 or earlier installed -- that is, MSI before it was a universal binary. FYI, downgrading to MSI 1.1.1 did not solve the problem. Re: downgrading MachFive, I believe 1.2.3 is required to read the MSI samples, so I don't think going back to 1.2 will help. Wondering if there's not some kind of preference file that needs to be trashed for either M5 or MSI. God this is annoying, it used to work so well! and using the MSI instrument is just a disaster in PT -- every time PT tries to save it takes like 5 seconds. Just slows down the whole system.
