After installing the upgrade last night and getting to know how the pitch correction worked. I tried to use DP 4.6 today on a vocal session. During the tracking, I selected pitch and was able to verify and alter the take.
Problem is the latency went from a few milliseconds to over 1/2 second, and nothing would change that. Even restarting DP 4.6 did nothing to resolve the issue. Tried different buffers, power-cycled the 828, nothing worked. Seems to be a bug in the update. Thankfully 4.52 was stable and the session went on.
Anyone else have problems tracking with 4.6?
Apple Dual 1.8 G5, MOTU 828, 1.5 GB RAM.

Re: problem with DP 4.6
I tracked some drums yesterday with no problems. Of course, I didn't touch the pitch stuff. One thing I noticed, which may have nothing to do with DP 4.6 - I set up my 2 PCI audio cards (AP 2496 and Delta 66) as an aggregate device in A/M Setup. This allows me to address the 2 cards as one device in DP. For some reason, one card tracked with more latency than the other and I ended up with 2 tracks (out of 4) being about a half second behind the other 2 tracks. A nice slapback echo effect which I didn't want.
I went back to A/M Setup and set the cards back to being seperate devices and all is well again.

Did you check to make sure that automatic delay compensation is on in the audio prefs?

Re: problem with DP 4.6
Tom's right - the update notes say you need to have delay comp on for pitch correction.

It was on when I experienced the timing issue.

Re: problem with DP 4.6
Yes I noticed the plug-in delay compensation. It was on when the problem started. I turned it off and made no difference. I did a mixdown and used Pitch Correction without any problems. I haven't tried to record with 4.6 since. I'll try again later and see if the problem continues.
I'm wondering if anyone else has had problems with tracking and Pitch Correction, or is it my configuration/plugins causing the problem.
