Hey All,
So, first thing, I've got an Intel MacBook Pro running 10.4.6 with 1GB RAM and desperately need to upgrade to 2GB. Is this something an idiot can do? And if so, any suggestions on where I'll get the best price?
Also, I'm a little confused (a lot confused) on how to determine why I'm using ALL of my 112 GB hard drive. I checked my entire DP folder, it's about 20GB. Photoshop files are taking up about 10GB, music is another 10...I can't figure out where it all is, or how I should maybe be partitioning my hard drive (???) Any help would be appreciated.
Thirdly, it looks like I'll go ahead and buy Windows so I can go back and forth...I think my choices for allowing me to do this are Boot Camp and Parallels, and it LOOKS like Boot Camp is free (won't download it until I get Windows)...am I correct n that? Or is that just some sort of update? What are your thoughts on what I should get?
Thanks!

1) You should be able to do it. You don't even strike me as an idiot, and an (almost) idiot CAN do it. Just follow the directions, and ground yourself and your computer before you start handling RAM sticks.31flies wrote:Hey All,

2) Gosh... you just have to look at the HD's contents. Open it up and start scrounging around. DP files may be in other folders. Use "get info" to check folder sizes. One thought: Have you ever emptied the trash? Do yu have any iMovies? If you really do have 112 GB of data you need, it is time to buy an external Firewire drive or get a SATA card and eSATA drive.
3) Boot Camp is free. You will need to partition your drive to use Windows under Boot Camp, and must re-boot your Mac when you move to and from Mac OS and Windows OS. Parallels is definitely more elegant, but extracts a small performance penalty you probably won't want to allow if you are a PC gamer.

I did it - so that would be a big yes. It is actually quite easy. In fact, it is dead easy. http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=30349131flies wrote: So, first thing, I've got an Intel MacBook Pro running 10.4.6 with 1GB RAM and desperately need to upgrade to 2GB.
