i want to be sure i am using the maximum cpu speed and memory for dp that my computer can handle. it's a g4 dual 867 with 768 ram os3.9
i am running dp 4.6 when i monitor my cpu it creeps up to over 100% being used by dp. not sure if i can send more memory to dp like you could with os9. also is a cpu accelerator software useful?
the biggest problem i am running into is when using non dp plug-ins my system cant handle it. i have tried changing buffer size, latency, nothing works.
help with cpu/memory

Hey guitarsark:
Just so happen to be passing thru Boston as we speak-- looking out across Copley Plaza as I type!
Well, OSX uses 500MB and DP uses about 250MB. You're hitting your limit just by booting up and doing little else there. Hmm.
The G4 867 will take 1.5GB, and RAM for that computer is dirt cheap. It will be the best and most cost-effective upgrade you could do without spending a lot of money.
OSX does its own allocation of RAM, so there's no way to manually adjust that the way you could in OS9.
The other thing is that DP 4.6 worked much better in 10.4.5 and later than it did in 10.3.9, fwiw.
Good luck!
