Apple Loops in DP 5.2 not as smooth as Garage Band?

Post by gramjess »

I use Garage Band to import Jampacs and other Apple based loops into GB then use and cut them in logic and also in DP. Now when u string say 2 or more loop styles in Garage Band or Logic they play together smoothly. When you import drag 1loop as audio into DP's stereo audio track no problem but when play more than one its not as smooth as logic as DP has fade handles at the beginning and end of each loop that needs xfading perhaps there is a grid or something I am missing to make them play smoothly as they do in in Garage Band first time without having to Handle anything..excuse the pun. Please can users AB this from GB first then DP JUST DRAG LOOPS next to each other there is a glitch in the audio only in DP but not in Logic's loop browser or GB...funny but true does anyone know why?

Hey Gramjess, I've never used a GB loop, Garage Band or Logic. Sorry.

I grew up in Pietermaritzburg though, so just thought I'd say, "Hoe gaan dit?".
I left in '81, so things have changed an awful lot for ya'll since then, eh?

Tot·siens, ou maat.

very very true. I guess what gets lost in translation is the scope of subjectivity of what fall into "humor". We all have our own perspectives (equally important) on this subject.....

gramjess, I've only used Apple Loops in DP a scant few times, but when I have done so, I haven't encountered the problems you seem to be describing.

One thought, is it possible that the loops you are dragging into DP are a slightly different tempo that of your song, and are not automatically matching the song tempo, and therefore not lining up properly in the timeline?

Make sure the loop tempo and the DP project tempo are EXACTLY the same. Otherwise they will overlap. make sure DP is set on snap to grid. then once the loops are lined up perfectly you can create a crossfade. Im assuming you know how to do a crossfade.
