Help! Session & audio files wrecked!

Post by Runners_Dial_0 »

About 10 minutes ago, while working on a session, my machine flat out locked up... Couldn't move the mouse, it was repeating a very short sample over and over... Couldn't force quit, couldn't do anything.

Now when I try to open the session, I get:

"An error occured while reading from the disk. The file Session was not loaded.

ID = -199"

I've seen this error before, but this time, it's ruined my audio files. They're still taking up the same amount of space, but NOTHING (DP 5, iTunes, Jam, Quicktime) will open them. I'd really like to get the session back, but I can accept having to start from scratch, but my audio? Not good.

Any ideas for how I can get these things to be recognized as what they are again?

It sounds like the file headers got screwed up.
I don't know jackboot and kilt about that stuff, but I'd throw 'em into Soundhack to see it I could restore the headers..

Open a new project and try bringing it in with the load command
