Mach 5 Pro Tools help!

I'm running PT 7.3.1 LE. Whenever I pull up an instrument channel and try to insert Mach 5, NI Pro53, or my Moog Mod in to channel, unless I place something like an eq in the first slot and then one of those VI's in the 2nd slot I get no sound. I have NI Komplete 3, LL3, ARP 2600, and they all work fine.
Any ideas out there???

I'm running my Mach 5 samle library on a ext firewire drive, could that have any thing to do with it.

Mac G5 DP 2.5ghz PPC 4.5GB ram,PT 7.3.1 LE, OSX 10.4.8

So far I've just figured out that Mach 5 isn't updating. I Ran the Mach 5 1.2.3 updater, but when I reboot pro tools and pull up Mach 5 it says its version 1.05 not 1.2.3.

Anyone had that happen?

Im in the process of un-installing and re-installing Mach 5.

Does anyone know for sure when updating from 1.05, do I have to goto 1.20 then to 1.2.3 or should I be able to just update to 1.2.3????
