Can't rename performances & can't type in text windows

I can open the text window to rename a performance, and I can see the existing performance name, apparently highlighted and ready to edit, and I can highlight text in the text box with the mouse. However, the keyboard is locked out. I can't type letters or numbers, or use the backspce or delete keys or arrow keys, or anything else on the keyboard. When I click away from the text box, the box closes and everything is normal.

The same thing seems to be happening in any other text window in the MachFive interface.

I'm having no other issues with this computer.

Has anybody else run into this? Is there a fix?
