i really need some advice and help with this. i've got a motu 828 firewire interface and a sony viao laptop. everytime i tried to record from my turntables with the motu into adobe audition, after 10 or so min. the signal would just cut out and it would either freeze the program or force me to reboot my computer. same thing would happen when i just used the motu to make music in fruity loops w/o even recording, just using it as a sound card. so i got a friend's motu (exactly same model) and it does the same thing every time after a few min. of either recording or using it to make music. i'm trying to see WHY?
- is it my laptop not being able to work w/the motu for some weird reason?
- i know it's not a adobe or fruity loops problem b/c it cuts out in both.
- since it happens w/both motus, it can't be mine alone then.
- do i need a better sound card although it already acts as one?
so i don't understand where the glitch in this is. one of my friends told me to get a "static free" place mat to put under my laptop or motu to maybe clear some of the static. i donno about that really. does it have somethin to do w/where my motu is or some kind of wireless internet connection cutting off the signal or something? please let me know if anyone has experience a similar problem and can offer me some advice. thank u.
