UVI Doesn't Read AIFF Disc

Before I start, let me quote motu's support page:
If you are in OSX, your disc may mount to your desktop. If so, simply launch UVI-Extract and select your disc from the Finder column. If your disc does not mount, Mac OS will prompt you either to "Eject" the CD or to "Ignore" the CD. Select "Ignore" and then launch UVI-Extract. In the "Disc" pull down menu, select, "Search for Sampler Discs."
Okay, been there. Done that-- didn't work.

This is the Peter Erskine Living Drums Sampler CD containing loops and invidudal hits, etc., all in AIF. I select 'AIF' from the UVI-Extract buttons across the top, and all my HDs plus the Erskine CD appear in the menu-- but there's a note across the top of the UVI-E window that says "no sampler disc found".

I don't get it. It's been a rough week.

Thoughts?

The "Sampler Disc" section is for stuff the Finder doesn't read -- Roland S-7xx, Kurzweil K2000, etc. For AIFF, just drag & drop 'em into MachFive. OK, you'll probably want to copy them to your hard drive first, in case copying directly from the CD doesn't work because of read-only permission or something. But MachFive directly reads AIFF so you don't need UVI-Xtract for anything in this case.

Well, I should have mentioned that I tried all of that before using UVI extract. I ended up copying certain AIFs directly into DP's audio tracks. It was late and I gave up for the night, so I'll see if drag-and-drop works in MachFive using SDII this weekend.

Thanks for the tips-- it could indeed be just the disc.
