I had black lion upgrade my converters in both units. They were only able to upgrade the clock in the 2408, not the 1224 (an older unit that).
Would the Apogee Big Ben make a significant difference?
Would the Rosetta?
Sorry for the clueless questions. I am just starting to grok this stuff.

would big ben help my 2408/1224 setup?

I have a 24o8 and an Apogee Big Ben as the master clock. I definitely appreciate the increased clarity. It's not profound, but it is noticeable.

Can't you clock the 1224 to your 2408/blacklion via the wordclock input?soundscore wrote:I had black lion upgrade my converters in both units. They were only able to upgrade the clock in the 2408, not the 1224 (an older unit that).

It's always preferable to have a good clock around. Not sure all the interim frequencies like 64k are available in Big Ben though. I have just been using my RME 800 clock and it sounds great. I rarely switch on the UA 2192 except for analog transfers anymore. I have pretty much gone to 64K for my projects now. It's a great sounding alternative to 96k, 88.2 and higher.
Anyway, make sure the clock your spending all this money on has them.
Good luck.
