Hi all-
Does anyone have any experience creating music for the Nintendo DS device? Because of memory and performance constraints, the music needs to be delivered in the MOD (FM) format (tiny sample library, driven by sequenced MIDI-like notes). This MOD stuff was pretty popular in the 90's before computers got more powerful.
You can compose music in these incredibly archaic MOD "trackers," but I really dont' want to do that. I want to be able to compose in Digital Performer, then somehow convert it to the MOD format.
I'm finding it to be really difficult to find any useful information about how to do any of this. One thing I ran across is a Windows MIDI-to-mod program here: http://www.un4seen.com/
But, I've been unable to successfully convert even a simple MIDI file to an FM/MOD file that makes any sound.
Any help would be truly appreciated!
Cheers,
Dave

I googled around and came up with a virtual zilch:
Here's a forum link that even for Windows says it's dificult or impossible these days...

Don't know what's out there for purchase, but so far additional searches are coming up with nothing. Maybe the process as described in the forum discussion can provide some clues as to which way to go.
Thoughts?
-- there might be something floating around which would run in OS 9
-- barring anything that will run in OS X, running such an app on an Intel in Windows might be an option...
-- perhaps a friend with a Windows/PC could assist?
