Have recently aquired a mk2 2408 with the 324 pci card. trying to install it into a pc - both units appear to be working but failing to communicate with each other.
The audio console is blank where the details for the 2408 should appear and the 2408 unit itself has a flashing led indicating that it cant find the pci card.
Using 1.2GHz Athlon chip on Windows XP
Any ideas????

Bad audiowire cable?
Assuming the cable is good I think the manual suggests moving the audiowire cable to a different port on the PCI-324 so it has another chance to get recognized. It also suggests using the bottom port when using a single 2408 so I am not sure if the idea is to leave it on the different port or just put it on to be recognized and then move it back to where it was (to hopefully be recognized this time).
I think there are also some (perhaps lots of) instances where the PCI-324 and motherboard don't get along well, hopefully this isn't one of those cases. If it is one of those instances the two main options seem to be trying an older PCI-324 driver or upgrading to the PCI-424.

Thanks Hamerman - got it going with the older driver set!
For anyone else with this problem if you search through the topics in the hardware forum for '2408 mk2' you should find several entries with links to the older drivers for the 324 card...
The install was a bit intermittent but after a couple of goes the units found each other... however once the pc is restarted the connection fails!
With more research in the forum a guy offered a solution by disabling the wave driver in the hardware manager before switching the pc off. Then once the computer is on again enabling it!
Seems to work, a bit of a pain but never mind!!!
