Is anyone using DP 5.1 on an Intel MacBook and successfully recording and playing back MIDI???
When I set MIDI Patch Thru ("Studio" menu) to "Sync Rec MIDI to Patch Thru", my live MIDI play thru is delayed and "f"ed up.
When set to Core MIDI Patch Thru, live play thru sounds correct, but MIDI recording is "f"ed up.
I've tried EVERYTHING!!! Just want to know if anyone is having success with this part of DP 5.1.
Thanks,
Xylo

what are you using for MIDI data input-- what keyboard?
Are you using a driver for your keyboard? If so, is that driver Intel compatible?
How do you have your keyboard setup in Audio MIDI?
If you are running an M-Audio device, some of M-Audio's drivers are not compatible with 10.4.8, despite what their download matrix might say. The PDFs often have fine print which explain things a little better, but often this info has to be tweezed out and parsed before the truth is revealed.
There may be a conflict with the keyboard's USB driver itself and IRC. Try either/or, but not both.

Thanks for the repsonse, Frodo. This has been frustrating beyond description.
My controller is a MIDI Mallet Controller - "Mallet Kat Pro". Essentially a MIDI marimba. I have never had any problems with this controller before in other Powerbook / DP configs.
It is set up in "Audio MIDI Setup" as I always have done before: MIDI controller, in and out to Xpress XT interface, 3 channels "in", 3 channels "out.
I am using a Motu USB Express XT MIDI interface. Also, 2 Gigs of Ram in the MacBook. No 3rd party plug-ins. I have the latest MIDI driver installed: version 1.34. Also, these problems occur when I set DP for MIDI only - no audio recording or playback.
The exact same hardware works flawlessly with my old TiBook and DP 4.12.
Frodo, do you run DP 5.1 on an Intel Mac? If so, how is your experience with MIDI Patch Thru for live playing? How is your experience with recorded MIDI accuracy?
Thanks for any help,
Xylo
