Ultralite spits spats at 44/16

Post by conleycd »

Anyone have any suggestions on the spitting and spatting from my Ultralite at 44khz/16bit. Doesn't seem to happen with rates of 96/24. This is crackling and occasionally spitting noise.

I am running DP 4.61 Dual G5 2.0, 2.5gigs RAM. DP setting is on high priority. Buffer changes and size of the project do not seem to matter. It does it outside of DP - i.e. Itunes.

your FW card is incompatible. search for compatible cards on this forum.
or if you have PCIE use a SIIG 3 port firewire card.
Core 2 Duo. E6600
4GB RAM
Vista 64
ASUS P5B
Cubase 4
MOTU Ultralite
SIIG PCIE 2-port firewire

Do you mean my internal firewire card is incompatible? Like the one on the mother (logic board)? Can someone just confirm that quick?

I don't know about your case, but I was having spits and spats with my Gateway laptop using the TI combo interface it came with (providing USB/Firewire/Cardbus). When I put in a SIIG dual-port firewire card, the noises all went away.
