Did DP run okay for a while and then crash?
Or did DP never work at all?
I think that DP on an Intel is still new enough that this information should be forwarded to MOTU for a definitive solution.
You may try repairing permissions, but in the meantime, TechTool Pro is now UB compatible. It may be a worthy investment in any case.
You may also try to do a complete uninstall/reinstall of DP.
Manually, you may remove all MOTU related '.bundle' and '.component' files. Use your Search feature in the finder to locate these.
Next, you can CONTROL CLICK on the DP icon, go to Show Package Contents and drag that folder into the trash. After that, you may drag the DP icon into the trash and then, just to be safe, run the uninstall from the CD-ROM. Sometimes the installer disc's *uninstall* feature doesn't always fully uninstall the app and its associated package files.
Empty the Trash!
Shut the computer down entirely and leave it off for at least 5 minutes. This will ensure that all UNIX-based references are flushed. This data can be quite stubborn to go away when asked to.
Boot up again and reinstall DP. Hopefully, TechTools or the intense reinstall will take care of it.
