The current versions of the Symphonic Instrument and Ethno Instrument (1.1.2 and 1.0, respectively) are universal binaries in the AU, RTAS, VST, and standalone formats. Updates which provide universal binary MAS plug-ins for Symphonic Instrument, Ethno Instrument, and MX4 are expected shortly, as well as AU and RTAS universal binary updates for MX4.

I cleared out all Ultimate Soundbank MAS bundles, and installed their latest AU bundles, and now Ultra Focus, X-Treme FX and Charlie open in DP 5.1 without crashing it.

Yeah... I just downloaded the demo MAS version and it crashed DP 5.1. Although here's the kicker... when I remove the MAS version and install the AU, I can't make it past the AU validation window. The demo keeps telling me I have 14 days left and I dismiss it and it just keeps coming back. I imagine there may be a way to text edit the file where DP keeps the list of approved AUs so that it's already "whitelisted."

Ultra Focus is one of my favorite VIs. Might even be my favorite.

It's more like a well-put together, best-of old-school synth ROMpler really. They've sampled all of these great vintage synth sounds as well as some bonus tape keyboards like Mellotron and usefully categorized them. And since they're packaged with the UVI engine effects (same as in MachFive), so you can tweak and contemporize them nicely.

The processor hit isn't too bad.

BTW: According to USB, the UF library will ported to the new UVI-2-based Plugsound Pro when it's available under the module name Synth Anthology. I've heard there will be an upgrade discount for current UF owners, but I can't confirm that.

I just installed DP 5.1 and i can't use them anymore , they crash DP.
I went to the support page of Ultimate Soundbank , and was looking for an update, i only saw that there is an update to the Pro version which will costs money, but the mentioned AU versions i can't find.
Wrote an email to their techsupport.
Anyone tips to solve this problem ?

Check to make sure if, when you originally installed Plugsound Box, you installed an AU component as well as a MAS bundle (many installers automatically install both). If so, just remove the MAS bundle from the MAS folder. You don't have to delete it if that makes you nervous -- just put it a separate folder you name "Unused MAS" or similar.

Otherwise, reinstall the app using your original installer, then do the above.

The main thing is: DP always chooses the MAS bundle over the AU component when loading. If you clear out the MAS, it'll load the AU -- and AUs seem to be more compatible with DP 5.1 at this point.

Lucky i had both version installed.

Today i received the Plug Sound Pro Update Box, its the upgrade from the standard PlugSound box...

I haven't installed it yet, because it was confusing, they shipped the Box with 2 DVD's , one containing the sounds and the other the installer.
As i'm upgrading from the PlugSound box , there are no instructions how to do that..(do i have to delete my other PlugSound box ..??)

In the the new Pro version is an little enveloppe with a chip card (similar to those in your cellphone) its has to be put in the USB Ilok dongle....guess what the box didn't ship with a Ilok dongle .....
In the manual ...its written that you have to buy an Ilok......wow....its because i like the USB sounds.....otherwise i wouldn't stick with them....
Invested in the orginal Plugssound box, funny registration method oke got that working.....than upgraded to the Pro version....and now i have to buy an Ilok...other wise i can't use it.....very custom friendly.....

Oke i have Machfive and MSI , both came with an Ilok included(thanks Motu) ...having read some problems of transfering other registrations to an Ilok already used , i prefer to use separate Iloks for my PRGS...also i never did this transfering, and i'm just afraid things can go wrong.....i mailed them about all of this and hopefully will receive an answer.

just FYI if you are upgrading beware of this.....when i succeed to install the
PRGR i will write how its sounds and functions.
