New controller for possible use with DP (motorized fader)
Okay, when I first saw this product, I didn't understand why I would want it. Then, this morning when I was working in DP, a thought came to mind. Of course, here is the product:
http://www.presonus.com/pr_faderport.html
What if the faderport instantly changed to the currently selected track? (And master fader if nothing is selected)
I was thinking, it was like a hardware version of the fader you get in Logic.
Just thinking out loud and wanted others to at least see this...

Hmmm.... we may be last in line again. The Presonus site wrote: "...software including Pro Tools, Cubase, Nuendo, Sonar, Logic and more."
Alternate legending/ screening to match DP?
Down the track?
Looks cool 'though.
Airport option would enable you to drown in honey.

RRP?

Thanks for taking the time, grimepoch.

Yeah, I noticed that too, no DP listed. Maybe we'll be lucky and it will get supported soon.

- footswitch jack for hands free punch in/out
- compatible with all major recording software including
Pro Tools (HD, LE, M-Powered), Cubase, Nuendo, Sonar,

http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/FaderPort/ - $230
Kind of neat, not too expensive. It's like a micro-master section of a Mackie Control. It looks pretty useful for single channel tracking, automation, and as a master fader. I can imagine automating multiple tracks simultaneously though, "Ok, fade out G1... NOW BANK, BANK, BANK, BANK, BANK, BANK, boost HH 3 dB... BANK, BANK, BANK, bring down BG -2 dB, CHANNEL, CHANNEL, CHANNEL, mute solo guitar, etc, etc..."

I understand it...It MOTU's fault....Tim wrote:I know.toodamnhip wrote:

It is up to MOTU to create aliances....reach out and connect..etc..it reminds me of APPLE not making it's code available and becoming orstresized in the software world...
There is no conspiracy against MOTU...it is MOTU not getting out to these companies or being too small to offer them incentives...
