i know everyone's asking the same question...but this is getting crazy.
i can get so much done with intakt that its a waste to have mach 5 for me...its not doing anything intakt can't do.

Are you always going to be version-chasing? If competing products have skewed/interleaved release cycles, the latest release of ANY product will likely be the ones with the most features and the most productivity gains.

If on the other hand you prefer Intakt (isn't that the non-editable load-only sample player dumbed down from Kontakt?) then you know what you want already anyway.

FYI, I just purchased Motu's Ethno, and in the manual it says:

"Compatibility with MachFive 2

If you own MachFive Version 2, the universal sampler, and you prefer the convenience of consolidated sound library access via MachFive, you can access the Ethno Instrument sounds directly from the soundbank and preset menus in MachFive."

On the back of the box it says:

"The entire 8GB Ethno instrument library can be accessed from within MachFive 2. Tweak sounds further with MachFive's extensive processing capabilities and integrate your session in a single virtual instrument window."

Yamaha Montage 8, Virus TI, Moog LP Tribute
Omnisphere, Diva, Sylenth1, Alchemy, Z3TA+2, more

intakt is like a loop slicer sampler, fully editable.
you are thinking of kompakt.

Which probably means it's coming soon.

As for kontakt, is it just me or does the UI suck?

Okay, be sure to tell us what you find.

Personally, I'll believe it when I see it. Until then, it's vapor.

Darn, I got my HTML tags wrong - I meant:
[sarcasm]Hooray! Soon! I'm setting off for the shop NOW![/lowest form of wit]

[lies]When I got to the shop it had closed down as it couldn't run a business based on telescoping lead times.[/lies]

Mach5/Kontakt/DP

Post by boris@midney.com »

I use DP 5.01 with Mach5 (plug) and Stand-alone Kontakt 2.1.1
It plays samples with no problems and no noticeable latency. Because of the 3-4GB limits in DP, I can••™t use Kontakt as a Plug-in, only as a Stand-alone.

Problem••¦ Though I use Interapplication MIDI within DP, I can••™t see Kontakts••™ input in Performers••™ audio. Consequently I can••™t bounce the trks for the final mixdown••¦ The Soundflower suggested by NI is a backdoor solution ••“ it doesn••™t run 24bit. And what is wrong with the original Mac OS driver? -it••™s very good, works nicely with DP. Appreciate some help••¦
Regards,
Boris

Wouldn't this be better as its own thread?
