external keypad with iBook doesn't work in DP??

I've got a Kensington Pocket Keypad that works fine with other apps, but refuses to work (the transport controls, for instance) in DP. Anyone had any luck with this or have any insight?? Says it works with Mac OS 8.6+, and it does except for DP.

If you open the COMMANDS window and put your cursor in the box beside a certain command, then hit a key on the keypad, does it show that key in the box? Maybe you just have to do that for all the keyboard equivalents of the keypad.
