Burning a cd

Post by andymcafee »

Does the speed at which a cd is burned effect the sound quality of the audio file? (I'm using iTunes to make cds of SDII files).

Would it be better to burn at slow speeds like x1 or x2 instead of x20 or x24?

Well, there are claims that slow burns are less prone to write-errors. I believe most dupe houses slow burn CDs. Might be best to err on this loose info.

i work for a cd duplication house and we never go higher than 8x, but tend to stick with 4x unless we are in a bind. i've had customers bring us masters that were burned at higher speeds and have skips and pops all over them.
