RodneySauer wrote: I do a lot of scoring to video in DP. I upgraded to 9.02, and now in the two different projects I've tried, the movies don't display. The movie pane just shows black. What's more, if I double-click on the video pane (which is supposed to pull the movie out into its own window), the entire program freezes up. It even froze up the Finder, so I can't open and close folders or start the Time Machine program while DP is spinning its color wheel in the background.
I'm seeing this too. :(

It's happening with any DP file which was last saved with the movie window sitting 'inside' the consolidated window. If a DP file has the movie saved 'outside' the consolidated window, it works correctly.

I suppose a workaround would be to open a DP file in 9.01 and take the movie window out of the consolidated window... Then open the project in 9.02. For me, it's too impractical... I work with a lot of files that have the movie window saved in the consolidated window... don't have time right now to re-save everything etc... :(

I've made a TechLink on MOTU.com ... Hoping they'll put out another update which fixes the issue. I'd really love to use the new Tracks window features... Sadly reverted back to 9.01 for now.

RodneySauer wrote: Maybe I'll try re-importing the video?
I tried this... Didn't work for me.

Movie audio still plays fine. The video doesn't play (stuck on the first frame or is just black) and resizing the movie window in any way crashes DP (beach ball), including trying to remove it from the consolidated window.

Ouch. That's gotta hurt. Seeing as how DP is the DAW for film scores, I'm guessing we're going to see DP9.03 or at least 9.025 by Monday, if not sooner.

Heavy sigh. Thanks for confirming the bug, always good to know it's not just me. Perhaps the beta testers all have dedicated monitors for watching the movie. We'll, I may try the "deconsolidate the window in version 9.01" trick, but I hope that this gets fixed soon.

I posted a techlink over at motu.com, and we'll see what happens.

That's the ticket. I'm all about sharing about my bugs on public forums but it should be backed up with emails to MOTU so they're aware. Luckily for me I can still use VSTi MIDI out in 9.02, it just makes searching for the non ghost Input a PITA. Now the race is on to see if all our bugs get fixed in the next update. :x

That could be it. I have three displays with one dedicated to video playback. I'm not a beta tester.

More vertical zooming in the Tracks Overview — Version 9.0.2 adds more vertical
zoom steps to the Tracks Overview so that tracks can be even taller.
I don't notice much difference which is disappointing.

Yeah I have to agree, although I'm not too disappointed. Weird claim to make for maybe one more 1/8" zoom vertical on my monitor anyway? (1920x1200)

Yes, it's not quite there is it? Maybe in the next update a few other improvements will come, like increasing the size and visibility of the column headings, column width control, column sorting, etc. I use the TO more for the left side than the right. For the right it's always easier to use the SE.

Michael Miller from the DP team here. There's an updated 9.02 available now that fixes the video issues. I'm really sorry for the inconvenience and lost time. Everyone should be seeing an update notification soon if not already.

Does it address the VSTi MIDI out bug mentioned with pictures earlier in this thread? :)

I'd been having an unusually high number of crashes on a project with about 25 audio tracks, converted from an Ableton Live file. I did the upgrade and all the crashes disappeared.

Thanks Michael!

I can confirm that after re-downloading and re-installing the DP9.02 update, the movie window has been fixed and is working again

Thanks very much for the fast fix. 8)

I agree movie window working and my Blackmagic card now doesn't freeze either, very good.
On the downside I still can't bypass automate a lot of my Waves plugins.
NOT WORKING c6, cla-3a, guitar stomp, kramer tape, r-eq (other renaissance plugs too), scheps 73.

WORKING: api 550, dbx 160,de esser, kramer Pie, ADT, RS56.

Anyone have any idea if its a MOTU or Waves problem?

Other than that, worked all day and now problems.
