I don't even think there's a MAS version of MachFive 3 anymore. I don't see it my my MAS folder, but there is one in my Components folder.Killahurts wrote:Let's not forget that MOTU has their own format (MAS), which also doesn't have the 16 channel limitation, just like VST3. Look at Mach V 3, etc.
Any hopes for DP and VST3??

Ah, I didn't know.. I mean, did MachV 2 even have that capability? I seem to remember you could get 32 channels or more, but maybe that was just the stand-alone version. I never use 16 MIDI channels on a single instance of anything, so I haven't kept up.
What I wonder is, other than the channel count, is there anything else that makes VST3 better?

Re: Any hopes for DP and VST3??
I think it did, but in light of Magic Dave's advice to use multiple instances rather than multiple channels in a singe instance, I also never use more than a couple of channels per instance. In fact, the 16 channel limit in MIDI has never been an issue for me.Killahurts wrote:Ah, I didn't know.. I mean, did MachV 2 even have that capability? Re: Any hopes for DP and VST3??
Right MAS doesn't have the MIDI limitation, But the real problem is that VSL (VE Pro) are NOT going to make a MAS version any time soon. They say it's "Not even near the top of our priority list at the moment. Not enough users request this"
a few members of this forum, along with myself, have been on the VSL forum harping at this for awhile, with no avail.
So the hopes would be that MOTU adapts VST3. which you think they would have some interest in, being as they are diving into the PC world.
