Lion Gold Master has java installed where the later updates do not. Is that the deal? However one can reinstall java.

Seems wise to update to Safari (5.1.7) and other browsers first.

BTW,

Firefox 3.6.28 blocks the java plug-in (irregardless of version) for PPC machines.
