I know some have mentioned having the buffer setting displayed. In addition, couldnt it be saved with each project? Sometimes, if I close one job where I've been working with a low buffer (say, doing vocals) and then open another one where I need a high buffer (to mix), it opens up, then I have to go to "Hardware settings" and.....well, you all know.

It's not a biggie, I confess, but it would save a little time. You know, like those keyboard commands?.....

Gavin
It might save time, unless you just wanted to quickly open a project to see what it was and discovered you have to sit through the change in buffer and then have MAS restart and all your plugs reload. Could sort of cost time in some situations too.

I don't recall anyone mentioning this in the thread...

I think it would be fantastic if MOTU would include their analysis tools (which are available in their latest hardware line) in the next DP update. I really like InspectorXL, but who knows how long that's going to keep working without support.

Very long thread and sorry if I am being redundant.. But I'd like them to save custom MIDI controller parameters as a global preset (BPM 1.5) so I don't need to set it up everytime I change a preset or call up another instance of the plugin/VI.. Also change the way DP handles MIDI data in the commands window, it needs to be more flexible and allow the user to edit the values by hand if needed.. Not all controllers are created equal.. Thanks for listening..

1. Multiple Channel Strips and Mixing Boards. Please? Or at least a Mixing Board in the Consolidated Window and another independent one.

2. Please fix the leaky floating Control Panel. Can't keep that sucker floating no matter what I do.

3. Allow for Sends to default to -infinity on new tracks.

I'm not sure what you mean James, since you have to sit through the MAS restart and plugs reload every time you open a different project, dont you? But if you open it up, and only then realise you need to change the buffer, you have to sit through it twice, no?

Anyway, it dawns on me (ok, I'm not very bright) that all one has to do is remember to change the buffer after you close the old project, but before you open the new one, and then you only sit through it once.

Come up with some cool lyrics for a bunch of my songs and a rhyming dictionary would be nice.
If I could just type in the subject matter or story and have Motu do the rest would be great!
Another would be to alert me when my wife is on her way home from work so I can turn the volume down in order not to hear her complain.

Maybe a version of Spell Check, only it alerts you when you play the wrong note instead (if there is such a thing as a wrong note).

Or, maybe a breathalizer one blows into to stop one from messing up one's songs without backing them up and to stop one from posting nonsense on this forum.

It's my birthday today and I'm pretty buzzed.
So forgive me for posting such dumb posts.
I think my breath would probably melt such device a device at this point.
I'm amazed I can still type...

Love this forum!
Happy Birthday to me!

There's your lyrics right there!
Happy birthday. You share it with one my best and oldest friends.

In my case, not even MOTU could help me with that...
It would have to be like some kind of premium feature or something.

BTW, you meant turning the volume UP, right? :)

Happy birthday!

Master Volume faders which start at '0' level fully open. This makes for better resolution in the box without going outboard to Mackie control for smooth fades.

GLOBAL input all audio fader variable master trim knob, -8 to + 6. This is a must for real mix functionality without messing about with the individual channel faders which takes time.

Effect sends from master faders for effects. This would be heaven for me as I love the overall slap on a final mix or room simulations pre insert effects but post mix data for sends like an effect insert but first in the loop.

A complete redesign of all input faders for longer more resolute control of audio matching at least outboard Mackie control faders.

Testing and repair of send data whilst updating a VI audio return level using Apple raid card. Currently there is an issue, believe me!

Parallel running MIDI/VI input software which runs outside DP but attached to the input switching and record control of DP automation allowing MIDI instruments to be heard/monitored in real time with little latency without changing buffers to 256 or lower which can crash the DP app on large sessions. Multi processors now make this doable. MOTU would need to leave one processor open for such a system but large buffers on playback would not effect input latency ever again.

Bidule does this with DP right now.

There is an assignable command

'toggle show active layer only' that works in the SE

is this what you're looking for?
I knew I had breezed over this before without checking it out, but that works perfectly! Thank you.
