Hey Michael... regarding Biotek... is there some way to use a Korg KAOS pad or something similar to control the X/Y window (the weird looking one with the tree and circuitry). You can get variations by moving the mouse cursor around on that, but doesn't seem like a way to do it from a controller keyboard. Just wondering if it was mappable? I'll keep looking. Maybe I can load it in Komplete Kontrol and map something to it?

UPDATE: I just loaded in into Komplete Kontrol and found the X and Y axis are mapped by default to some knobs on my Komplete Kontrol S61 Mk2 keyboard. Although you'd have to turn two knobs simultaneously (ala Etch a Sketch) to move the cursor diagonally. It seems like you'd want to be able to control this with some sort of touch pad and be able to record those moves as automation. There must be something out there to do that.

Basically all XY pads are able to post CC, so in the case of the Koas pad, you should be able to assign CC to the XY controllers and the pad then you're good to go. There's a pretty great app for the iPad I plan on using for this and the XY pads in Zebra HZ etc.

Nice... thanks. Was wondering if there was a small unit out there... perhaps 5"x 5" or so that I could place on top of my keyboard to use for that? That would connect to USB? Any suggestions welcome. I should probably make a new topic. Thanks again!

Actually I did make a new topic and also found an app called Audio Swift that looks interesting:

Oh man, really?!?! Damn!

Seriously, I have a lot of harpsichord VIs and this may be the best I've heard — and it has a Lute Stop like the instrument I grew up with at San Jose State when I learned the Beethoven Mandolin pieces. This recording uses a Lute stop on some of them:
https://archive.org/details/mandolinmus ... _min._.mp3

Well, that's $20 I didn't need for anything else today.

I love when the demo went off the reservation and into Eventide's Black Hole Reverb which, as I recall, I picked up at for $29 through a link here. Oh... this is-a-gonna be fun. Can't wait till my wife gets to play it.

My Mac wouldn't unzip the file—I've not seen that in a long time—so I had to use The Unarchiver which handled it fine.

Yeah... I had the same issue and I had to use thinks app called Keka which another one of these foreign sample library companies said I should use to open .rar files with. I had the same prompter with the regular MacOS unarchiver too.

You probably saw that they have different tunings/intonations. I just installed the 440 Equal Temperament version for myself. Also had to do that little dance to help Kontakt find the samples the first time, but yes... it does sound really good. A lot more convincing and realistic than others. Apparently this developer has a bunch of different harpsichord libraries, too. On check out, they hit me up for an Italian harpsichord for another $39 or so... but I've gotta slow down here some.

Moog Model D MiniMoog app and plug in just released

Post by James Steele »

Well this isn't necessarily on sale... it's $24.99 though the App Store, but Moog just released the MacOS app and it will run as a plug-in.

Here's the article where I discovered this:
https://www.musicradar.com/news/moog-mi ... mac-plugin

And here's where you can get it:
https://apps.apple.com/app/minimoog-mod ... 1339418001

I have had some problems getting sound to come from it running as the standalone app, but the plug in runs fine in Digital Performer.

However... be aware that once you download from the App Store, if you launch DP, it will do a scan and fail since the App Store installation installs an AU3 plug in. You have to go to the Moog website and download the AU2 and VST3 wrapper installer from them.

Go here: https://www.moogmusic.com/products/mini ... esizer-app

Then, click where it says Download the VST wrapper. That will download a disk image that you can open up and then drag the AU2 to the Components folder and the VST3 to the VST3 folder. Then when you launch DP it will see it and scan it and all will be good.

Now if I can just get the standalone app to work right, although that's not a big priority. I seldom use standalone app version of anything except Kontakt and Komplete Kontrol.

They are free if you own the IOS app versions. You have to jump through about 4 "Buy Now" and "Pay" windows. About the wrappers - I'm still confused about the MOTU support of plugin formats, Is there any definitive source?

Yeah... I don't own the iOS version, but that's good info. Not sure what you mean about the MOTU plug in formats?

AFAIK, DP supports AU, VST2, and VST3. AU3 is an updated Audio Unit version, but I don't think DP supports it yet. Probably Logic Pro does because it's an Apple product. Like I said, if you download and install the VST3 and the AU2 plug, you can use either of those formats. In DP's plug in list, it shows two Model D AU's. One says (wrapped) next to it and that's the one that works. I may choose to use the VST3 version of it just for fun. Disappointingly, there is no VST2 version, so I can't use it inside Komplete Kontrol until NI updates it so it will, presumably, open VST3s.

P.S. This is what I see in Logic Pro. There's a AU3 that Logic can use, but DP can't it seems. Then the "wrapped" AU2.

Roll Control - turns any percussive sound into a roll via MIDI. Sale ends today.
Works with Cubase, Logic, Studio, etc. Although, does anyone know if it works with DP?

UPDATE - Apparently it doesn't work in DP according the the creator. He will test Unify and that might be a way around this though.

I was thinking the same thing. Until DP is updated to handle some of these plug-ins that require MIDI input, which I assume this might be, some sort of shell plug-in is often necessary. I’ve had good luck with Blue Cat Audio PatchWork in situations like this.
