When I forced my Mac 09 to Mojave OS, i got crashes. After loading 11 they're gone. Mac OS could indeed be the issue but I bet its plugs so update all your plugs right off. Look into the crash report for clues and names that could get you to the source of the issues. For me, I'm down with 11.

Cheers, GB

Could you elaborate on this? I didn't know you could create a new account with the same name. This has always messed me up.

You can rename an account. It has to be done in a very specific way that has more than one step. One is to use the Users and Groups item in System preference. Right click on your use name in that panel and go to "Advanced Options" where you can make this change along with others. The other step involves changing the home folder name in the Finder to exactly the same thing. I'd suggest you google this to make sure you get the order of operations right, and see any steps I've forgotten to mention. There's probably a restart somewhere in there. In the article I read, it warns that if you don't follow the instructions exactly, your Mac will go up in flames.

So with that, you rename the account you have, perhaps to "OldAccount". The create a new account with the name you usually use. After transferring data etc to the new account you can delete "OldAccount", or just leave it there in case you forget something. IIRC, there are one or two third party apps that get confused, but it's obvious what to do when you see the confusion.

I think with DP11 it make no sense to not upgrade the system on BigSur. IMHO

I want to thank you all with my crash problem for DP 11. It turns out that my problem was with my preference files.

Now and then the hidden preference files get corrupted.

Here is what I had to do.

First, delete DP, then using the “go” menu, type in ~/Library to reveal grayed out Library files. Next, move the plist files to a folder on my desktop.

Reinstall DP by downloading a fresh installer and try again.

Fixed :)

Why is that? What's the advantage?

Same problem over here, seemingly related to surround features. My fix, if ever your file has surround tracks:
_ Shift-Launch DP11 to defeat audio drivers.
_ Open a copy of the the file.
_ Take note of all surround settings, then set all surround tracks to to stereo.
_ Save.

File copy should reopen trouble-free from then on. Reconstruct surround panning as noted earlier on.
