Are you guys doing regular fades? I'm talking about a fade with a long length before the splice and a short length after the splice. Asymmetrical. I don't know how to post pics but there is a thread here to show you exactly what I mean: https://www.facebook.com/groups/31959118409/

I do irregular fades as well. Not an issue.

I don't have facebook. Will try a few more variations on fades tomorrow.

I believe you but would love to see a screenshot. I don't get it. I have a basic system on my laptop and on both of my computers, I cannot do this. It is not a setting.

Can you list what you're doing in some detail step by step? Maybe a copy of your tech link would do it

I have a splice and region-select before and after it. Let's say 1 second before and 10ms after. I bring up the Fade dialog and "Fade Selected Time Ranges". It creates a 10ms symmetrical fade instead.

Try something for me: go to the Fade dialog and go to "Create Fixed Length Fades". Type in 1000ms before splice and 10ms after splice and tell me shat happens. For me it creates a 10ms symmetrical fade.

Yes, I get a symmetrical fade at the shorter value, then DP 10 crashes. Any news on your tech note?
EDIT: Few minutes later: started up again, did it again, got a spinning wheel for about 30 secs, but it came back and the fade looks OK. Something still not right.

There's no Tech Note. This is through email with MOTU. They're aware though.

Yeah, I've been reading about this from a number of people on the MOTU Facebook group. It seems to be a major problem for some, not for others. But MOTU know about it and are working on it.
