After purchasing the Pro Apps Bundle, you’ll receive an email with content codes that can be redeemed on the Mac App Store. Codes are usually delivered within one business day but may occasionally take longer.

You get 5 codes. I already had Logic and MainStage so I emailed the unused codes to daughters. Log into the App store & paste the code, the download begins and the product is registered automatically.

Plenty of reasons to own Logic in addition to DP — for me at least. I never begin and end projects in it, however. Ever!

I remember years ago, I was frustrated about many bugs, MANY crashes, and lost work even with pretty frequent saves. I bought Logic (back when it wasn't as cheap or easy).

I HATED IT. Nothing made sense, it was missing must-have features, and I just kept getting stuck time after time. I get that it is a good program and not apples-to-apples, but my experience with Logic back then made me come crawling back to DP, "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have doubted you."

I'm still frustrated by things in DP, but it is much more stable-- though still a little buggy and a little crashy.

It's easy to get swept up in the hype of a new version. The bump between 7 and 9 is pretty huge. The bump between 9 & 10 IS pretty impressive. Something to look forward to.

I had the same experience. I originally bought Logic as an alternative to Cubase, but never took to it. But I do work with others who use it so I've always had it running. I think it would be fair to say that Logic has improved significantly over the past few years, especially since the introduction of V10. The annoying geeky environment stuff hardly ever comes up (like when you had to go in and find an obscure box to check that said "yes, I do want MIDI to get into the sequencer". At this point, I'd say it does a better job than DP in some things like resource management, time lines, and automation editing. But DP 10 seems to have addressed all of these in some way. I've yet to start or finish a project in Logic, but it's a useful thing to have.

That's more like three months (more by the time DP10 ships), and there has to be a cutoff: somebody is always going to be just a couple days on the other side.

But regardless, you're on the other side. That's a shame.

Logic is a great program now. Apple has improved it in many ways, and it does beat DP in some aspects (if DP would add gestural controls, I'd be ecstatic). But DP is a great program, too, and beats Logic in many regards. You just need to decide what's important to you.

My daughter is amazed by the way I export her Logic files so I can import and edit in DP and how quickly I work once I’m in there.

9.5 is excellent. Unless a feature or two in 10 are must-haves for you, your decision is a good one!

Yeah, I'm pretty happy with 9.5. Maybe 11.xx will be my next upgrade.

I will buy DP10 the second it's available.

Even with its problems (every other DAW has problems and bugs), it's still an amazing and capable DAW.
I really want to see what all this MOTU love is about.

Something tells me that, whatever changes they made to DP10, is to sort of pave the way ahead for what will come next. Based on the new features, like the Clippings and stretching algorithms, ala Ableton Live, I like the direction MOTU is taking our beloved DAW.

I agree it’s the best DAW but I remain cautious about so many new additions to the GUI as well as the other functional changes. I hope it all works great but I won’t be a beta tester as we all were in DP 6.

I will install it in a system clone, of course.
That way, if I don't like what I see, or if it doesn't behave well (because it's a .0 release, which is typically risky), then I'll simply switch disks from my "toaster" and be back to 9.52 in under a minute

I've been having some issues with 9.52, so I don't have much to lose anyway...

You will probably get it when you see how everybody raves about the awesomeness of DP10 with its amazing stability and overall improvement... 'Cause that's what we'll get... Urrrrr... Right??

That def a plan but will run ya $200USD. I got designs on that much cash and DP 9 is the cat’s pajamas for me. Of course, I never copy and paste controller data. Lol.

Nope. Hardly ever. I rarely exceed 16 tracks unless it's a post sound or theater sound design project.
