They say there's a 1tb limit on supported drives,I wanted to use a 2tb drive for time machine backups,do you know if it will work with a drive larger than 1tb?
Thanks,

They got the esata speed wrong (the slowest one being 1,5Gb/s) so they might have gotten the other one as well. I use another station similar to this and use 2T drives with it without a hitch
I think the copy was written when 1T drives at 1.5g speed were the norm. Mine have 2g drives and mine run at the 3G bus speed.
My iMac has the OWC eSATA extender taken from an unused internal port. Heat is a big issue with the iMac so I felt this was the better way to go.

I chain three fw400 and one fw800 and motu 828 into my mac mini - works perfect. The 828 is the last in the chain using a fw400 to 800 cable going to a fw800 on one drive which has a fw400 I then chain the remaining drives fw400 cables until I get to the mac which now only provides a fw800 so another fw400 to 800 cable to the mac. The only draw back is all four of my drives must be on for my 828 to function.
Confusing right?

I've used an OWC enclosure as a hub of sorts with an iMac 11,1 with only one FW800 port. The (powered) enclosure has (2)FW800 and (2) FW400 ports and is the first stop in the chain. Other FW800 drives are branched from the 2d FW800 port and either a MH or
Audio Express are branched from the FW400 port. Works great, but I haven't tested the throughput. This one has a drive in it, but I think it would work with an empty powered enclosure as well.
What utilities are you using to test the speeds?

+1 here except I have an iMac. I use an OWC FW 400 to FW 800 adapter. Runs like a charm.
