It's a proxy error.

The proxy server received an invalid response from an upstream server.
The proxy server could not handle the request GET /.

Reason: Error reading from remote server

Apache/2.2.16 (Debian) Server at http://www.motu.com Port 80

2 possible reasons:
an error in the httpd.config file of the Apache server or a crash of the mysql server. Either way, the connection cannot be done from re IP request.

This look like a problematic deployment of a new website.

We'll see...

So to capsulize, the MOTU site is down and the conspiracy theories are, as usual, bullpucky. :)

I have it on reliable authority that MOTU's site was originally on MobileMe, and on the migration to iCloud was hijacked by the DNS changer and is now a covert FBI website.

The only possible explanation for all this is that MOTU has closed up shop, shut down the server, and turned off the lights. But what few know is that Apple dumped Logic, and has bought MOTU and DP. They're changing their own name from Apple to Un-iCorn. Legacy versions of OSX will be called iCorn OS, while future release versions will be known as Un-iCorn OS, or in the vernacular, Unicorn OS from Un-iCorn.

Former Product Lines: Renamed equivalents
iPhone: iCorn Ear
iPad: CornPaddy
Mach Kernel: Kernel iCorn
MacBook Air (with its smooth patented angles and lines): Kernel Angus
Digital Performer: Logically Rational
Logic: iBullShoot

Oh, and they've sold all their eMagic assets to a guitar company named Gibson, where Logic (now known as iBullShoot) will soon be released in a brave new format.

Really, when you think about it, THIS is the ONLY possible conclusion one can derive from the outcome of these events happening at MOTU.

:unicorn: :koolaid:

Not so. MOTU bought SOS and is merging the web sites. SOS is going to be all DP articles all the time.

If I recall correctly, the last time their site went down was just before they released DP 6.

hmmm...

One could, with some wishful thinking, imagine that they are taking the time to overhaul the webpage to coincide with the release of DP8. At theas the DP section is due for an update. If you look at the page for MachFive 3, I think we'll see something similar now for DP8. So far it's consisted of a DP page and a lot of What's new in DP5? What's New in DP6 What's New in DP7? pages etc. Not very user friendly for people new to the application. And with the release for Windows MOTU is shooting for A LOT of new users.

If so, maybe something went wrong in the update of the page?

So let's hope this means DP8 is here soon along with a great new section on motu.com showcasing it!

Woot! Woot! :)

Not to be a party pooper but I'd wager the site is down for technical reasons and has nothing to do with any imminent release...mainly because I'm pretty sure MOTU's main office isn't open on the weekends.

Mr. Quimper wrote:I'm kind of hoping it's not DP8, as I'm still one of those who are on DP6. After hearing all the raves about DP7 stability, I'm still hoping to grab that ( while getting the DP8 free upgrade  ) so I can run them side-by-side and compare. I don't suppose there will be any way to get the DP7 upgrade after DP8 is officially launched?

Mr.Q
I hope you grab 7 now while you can,so you get the free DP8 upgrade additionally.

That is another possibility, and I cannot believe I overlooked that potential outcome. It just makes so much sense that it's GOT to be true!

I see that the site is back up now but unchanged (as far as I can tell). They're teasing us!
