I know a shortcut through the trees, kinda "as the crow flies".Frodo wrote:Okay. Whose turn is it to go for pizza and wings?
Hard to beat on Unicorn-back, or Unicorn-hoof for that matter.

RCory's out of beans, but worse still, so's the hobbit.johnny wrote:I'm going via Starbucks... Anyone want coffee?
He needs them to spill all day long; this is urgent.
Johnny, you know what to do.
When Machy arrives, we'll be ready.
For what? That's anyone's guess, but hey, we'll be ready.

Yes (while browsing this particular forum topic) I'm afraid we must!Frodo wrote:Oh, Spikey!!
We've done without v2 for all this time. Must we surrender FOOD as well?![]()

BTW I'm getting one of these. It's the best sampler I've ever heard... and it can fly.
That's absolutely brilliant the way certain birds can imitate what they hear so accurately. The chainsaw and car alarm blew me away! I guess we've grown so used to mina birds and parrots doing such things, but the Lyre bird tops them all!Spikey Horse wrote:Yes (while browsing this particular forum topic) I'm afraid we must!Frodo wrote:Oh, Spikey!!

I thought we could photoshop our avatars to be more gaunt too.

OK, you can eat them, but only if you get really hungry.Frodo wrote:...Must we surrender FOOD as well?![]()

And what about the saddle sores?

Hey, you're a hobbit, right?

Mach 5 V2
I'm joining too... Sometimes alittle civil disobediance goes a long way...
I'm thinking of tree sitting over this...
At this point I think MOTU is wearing earplugs and earmuffs so they won't hear the protest. So maybe they will pay attention to me if I climb to the top of my Xmas tree in protest...
A friend at a very large dot.com music retailer tells me that MOTU is losing alot of Mach5 sales, because of the damage done by thier indifference to loyal customers around this.

Re: Mach 5 V2
I wonder what the atmosphere is like in the office at MOTU - do you think V2's the subject nobody really mentions and whenever it does come up, people stare at the floor and cough and suddenly have to go somewhere else?sunsinger wrote:At this point I think MOTU is wearing earplugs and earmuffs so they won't hear the protest.
Like an embarrassing event at the office party? Maybe that's what Namm '05 was!
Re: Mach 5 V2
It probably would have been just fine over at MOTU's Xmas party if they hadn't created that "fictiitous" press release at NAMM 05'3over3 wrote:I wonder what the atmosphere is like in the office at MOTU - do you think V2's the subject nobody really mentions and whenever it does come up, people stare at the floor and cough and suddenly have to go somewhere else?
Promising a great Upgrade like V2 and then reaping sales based on that promise is just wrong... So they've alienated alot of goodwill from customers, naturally.
When will these guys see that damaging your goodwill for short term gains is just shortsighted.
It was a tactic that probably got someone a bonus for the immediately complete with pats on the back.... then fired later.
I hope the XMAS party is extremely uncomfortable this year with Namm coming up...
Have a cup of eggnog on me

No doubt many MachFivers have gone to K2 by now. I even have K2 on the way myself, in fact.papageno wrote:For IntelMac users Kontakt seems to be the only choice for now.
Of course MOTU is losing many Mach5 customers. Their only software product that is IntelMac compatible is DP.
Kontakt works OK here. Of course it is buggy as all other software.
But there *is* other MOTU software in their UB-Intel versions available now besides DP-- just to clarify from MOTU's support pages:
MOTU Ethno Instrument OSX Universal Binary
This update installs Ethno Instrument version 1.0.1 in all supported formats, including stand-alone, AU, MAS, RTAS, and VST. All formats are installed in Universal Binary form compatible with both Intel and PowerPC Macs. Along with Universal Binary (Intel Mac) support, this update includes many enhancements and is therefore recommended for both PowerPC and Intel Mac users. Refer to the installer's Update Notes for more information.
This installer requires OSX 10.3.9 or higher on PowerPC Macs and 10.4.x on Intel Macs. It also requires a full install, including iLok authorization, of Ethno Instrument version 1.0.0.
MX4 Version 2.1
This update installs MX4 version 2.1 in all supported formats, including AU, MAS and RTAS. All formats are installed in Universal Binary form compatible with both Intel and PowerPC Macs.
MOTU Symphonic Instrument OSX Universal Binary
This update installs Symphonic Instrument version 1.1.3 in all supported formats, including stand-alone, AU, MAS, RTAS, and VST. All formats are installed in Universal Binary form compatible with both Intel and PowerPC Macs.
