Still not convinced I'd use this much, but it was interesting to see what Matt did with the Clips feature.
I've been wondering about something that would pick up with Dr T KCS left off. This sort of goes there. In KCS, you could create up to 100 sequences, and trigger them from the keyboard. That much you could do with Clips, using Scenes instead of Sequences.
But in KCS, each sequence could run on its own tempo track, making some interesting evolving combinations of looped sequences. I can see you could do that with audio sequences in Clips by turning off the Stretch setting, but I don't see how you'd do that with MIDI clips.
The other thing you could do with KCS is create a track or sequence that had nothing but triggers for the other sequences. That allows you to start and stop them wherever you wanted, rather than in fixed time intervals, and let you experiment with different combinations of loops until you got a keeper.
I don't see anywhere to do that with Clips. It looks like you have to trigger the Clips manually, try out the order and timing, and then remember what you did and repeat it to render a final piece. It looks like it should be possible to automate this if there were key commands to play scenes. With that you could use the MIDI note equivalents of the key commands to create a sequence of notes that plays the other clips.

Yeah I'm liking the Clips feature, but being a Live user for 14 odd years it's still in it's infancy compared to what Live can do. Almost everything you mentioned is possible in Live. You can set a tempo for a Scene by simply typing the bpm after your scene name, it has something called Follow Actions that give you options to fire the next clip above or below the playing one, in any interval, Clips themselves all have their own launch quantization, so the global launch might be a bar, but you can set an individual Clip to fire at any quantization, or none. They have all sorts of hardware controllers that integrate. Bitwig is the same, no setting up MIDI learn etc. it just appears as the clip color on an 8x8 grid. With all the missing features of Clips in Bitwig or Live it's more like the DAW is a turbo charged sampler workstation. I'm hoping MOTU aren't done with Clips, including fixing the bug in the Back to Sequence Scene at the top that currently doesn't work in my set up.
Don't get me wrong, I'm really glad they put it in there, I personally already find it useful, but I'm still firing up Bitwig when I want to do involved Clip work (and MPE).

Here's where you can find all the webinars. Pretty sure it was covered on the April 10 session that I attended.

MOTU - What gives? Why aren't you posting the webinars? I can't attend in realtime. Even if I could I would still want to download them as reference training materials. The ones you've posted are great. PLEASE post the webinars! Thanks:)

The webinars are on at around 2.30AM for me so I haven’t been able to see any of them. I’ve emailed and messaged MOTU to beg them to post things quicker, but it’s unlikely to happen. There hasn’t been a new video posted in around 3 months, I can’t see them ever catching up, and it’s really frustrating. They won’t post the webinars without editing them, so that’s the hold up. It’s extremely disappointing, I mean...Dennis McCarthy, Van Dyke Parks, Terence Blanchard? Film scoring discussions???

There's about 5 of them available, MOTU and Matt keep saying they're coming soon.
Hopefully after the first bugfix update to DP11 they get around to it.

Please let MOTU know. As I posted earlier, they refuse to let any of their customers watch them until they've edited them. No one cares about that, we just want to watch the bloody things. I have emailed them often, they have given up replying to me.

Probably we will not ever see them as editing the video would be a time consuming task. Too bad... well that is what it is..someone just decided they can't have it out as a representation of the company without editing...and I can't actually blame them for that...not a terrible business decision really, but on the other hand.... we could really use the info. Well if they are pop up please update this thread.. I doubt they will though.
I'll send them a comment too. I've sent them a lot of comments that never came to anything though, so I'm not that hopeful either.

Agreed. Clearly editing the webinars is not a priority for MOTU. It may be best for us to just forget about them. Hopefully they’ll surprise us at some point and put some up. And yeah, the idea of just putting up the raw video isn’t realistic given how cautious MOTU has always been about what they put out there.

You both know they released about 5 of them right? They aren't very edited. I think what happened was Matt etc. got bogged down on DP11 rather than sitting down and watching the entire webinars for cussing, and other things they don't want up.
One thing that happens with MOTU I think is they all wear a lot of hats, and there are more hats than people. Hopefully we see the rest soon, but they aren't super exciting. Personally I think they should flat out hire David Das to do videos for them, since he already is for free. Here's one on Babylon Waves integration in DP.

Well over 100. None have been posted since last May.
