I have a bunch of projects from DP 3.11 that I saved to an external drive from my old computer. Now, when I transfer them to my new machine the DP file, as well as all of the audio files, appear as "Unix Executable Files". Does anyone know what's going on?
The old computer was running OSX3.9 and OS9.22.
The new one is running OSX4.7.
I never had any trouble going back and forth from the external drive (a Lacie "porsche" model) before.
When I try to open the file with DP5.01, DP launches but doesn't open the file. Then, the file says that its a DP5 file but it still displays the Unix executable file icon.
I found some threads on opening old projects but didn't find anything pertaining to this issue. I'll try MOTU tech support tomorrow but thought I'd see if anyone could help me straighten it out tonight.

hmm, that didn't work. here's a screenshot of the DP file after trying to open it with DP and one of the audio files that hasn't been touched:

Hmm...
The originial file states that it's 13.6 MB, but the DP 5.01 "version" of the file says 1.3 MB. There a 12MB unaccounted for-- I doubt that porting an OS9 file into OSX will reduce a file that way. I had a dual boot G4 with DP and Logic both running in OS9 and OSX and didn't notice any significant difference in the file sizes on each OS.
questions
Do you have a way to open the file in DP 3.11? Even at a friend's house? You could save the project on CD-ROM as an SMF and then rebuild your project in DP5. Any audio is audio and only needs to be imported in the Soundbites window.
