padKontrol with dp 4.61

Post by saxmonster »

How are you guys using it, by the MIDI ports or usb. I have it hooked up by usb and the padkontrol shows up just like my fast lane in audiomidi app but I know i can hook up the MIDI out on the pad to the fastlane but I would like to just use the usb ports.

It works perfectly in Rax 2.0 so why does it not work in DP?

any ideas?

padControl

Post by peterkgeelong »

I have the padcontrol hooked up to my mac (DP 1.8 G5) by USB and it works in DP 4.61. It shows up in Audio MIDI set up as a separate device as does my fastlane. I too struggled to get it to work but I think a reboot solved whatever was causing the problem. By way of obsevation I would note that it does not show as an input device in DP rather I just Rec enable a MIDI track for reaktor, battery or toontracks and hit the pads and the softsynth responds accordingly. Hope this helps.

I use a PadKontrol as well, but I've never had any issue with it. I create two new devices and attach them to the PadKontrol ports A and B I believe. I then use the editor software to make the top 8 buttons to port A and the bottom to port B, and use them to drive two instances of microtonic in DP. This all through the USB.

The only complaint I have with the padKontrol is it seems to never fully store my presets. If I power it off, I have to reload them, and that is stupid.

Nice piece though :)
