Here's a free converter I found, working great in OSX 10.4.7. It's very fast, much faster than i-Tunes - and it batch converts.

I use Switch as my weapon of choice for format conversion, and I've found it to be stable, fast, reliable, and best of all, FREE. I never cease to be amazed at the amount of excellent software available for either nothing, or next to nothing.

Cheers,

Geoff

LAME is probably the best (free) mp3 converter out there, used by DP and Barbabatch. On soundbites window, select the file to convert, choose Eport/mp3 and you're done. I don't think there's anything easier than that if you use DP :)

iTunes. If you're using a Mac, (and if you're a DP user, then you are) most likely you already have it installed on your computer.

Have to disagree about LAME - I think it blows. For one thing, it makes mp3 files that are twice as large as the ones you can make using Switch. At least on my computer it does. I have both LAME and Switch, and Switch kicks LAME's ass. Come to think of it, LAME is an appropriate name for it.

Don't get me started about i-Tunes...

I respect you opinion, but if LAME was rubbish it would mean that both MOTU and AudioEase are a bunch of nuts ... and I don't think so.
I'm sure Switch is a great mp3 converter, I personally use LAME within DP, and it does its job very well.

Just my 2 •‚¬ cent ...
