dp4 for mastering

Post by Clip »

I understand that alot of people are using bias peak to do there final master mix. Can't Dp perform all the mastering tasks. Instead of having to purchace another 500 dollar program.

of course it does

That's an option depending on your project, your needs AND your budget.

My first recordings required a big binch of mastering tweaking. For that I used Waves and other 3rd party plugins.

By now my mixing is much accurate (?) and I feel less "mastering-dependant" for my satisfaction.

DP includes
MWEQ wich I find very powerfull
MWLIM wich I find usefull (but no brickwall type, if you see what I mean : not designed for the "level-race", or call it "level-war" if you wish)
MWCOMP very nice but you must get used to it to get good results (wich I can produce, I think !).

My advice : Try those a few times on different projects and make your own opinions before taking the costy plunge.

My second advice : Your monitoring system is a central key to your success in such work. Shure, your trained ears are that too !

Enjoy !
