I think you're about to be inundated with questions. What is Audio Technology (I assume it is a magazine), and was it an article? Is the article online?

Audio Technology is an Australian magazine. It has a product information section in the opening pages which has an article assigned to new Motu stuff. It's mostly about other VI's but finishes with "machfive vII has now been released..."

I think they've jumped the gun a bit. The best source for release information would be motu.com.

Mach5 v2 was announced at NAMM, 2005-- some 19 months ago. I believe the initial release of Mach5 v2 was intended for about the same time as the release of Digital Performer 4.5 and or MX4. If I recall from the original press release from MOTU, it was due during the second quarter of 2005. It's easy to imagine that even under the most harrowing delays that it might be out by now.

Let's call it "printing by assumption without update confirmation".

In other words, Mach5 v2 has not yet been released. But, I would imagine MOTU might be intrigued to know that their friends in Australia think otherwise.

As with most product editorials, this article's source is attributed to it's supplier - Major Music. Therefore you would assume that Major Music has some info on the fact?!

Well, I thought for a moment that maybe for once we here in the antipodies are ahead of our North American cousins, but alas...

Audio Technology is a reliable magazine (I know from personal experience, I wrote a review of Absynth 3 for them a few months ago and if they will print my stuff, they have just go to be legit  ). Having said that, I have the latest edition ( Issue 48 ) here in my sweaty palm, and it says nothing about M5II.

Additionally, there is nothing on Major Music's web-site to say that M5II is coming out.

Maybe we have a bit of an Aussie prank going on here?
Naughty Aussie.
Cheers,
BK

…string theory says that all subatomic particles of the universe are nothing but musical notes. A, B-flat, C-sharp, correspond to electrons, neutrinos, quarks, and what have you. Therefore, physics is nothing but the laws of harmony of these strings. Chemistry is nothing but the melodies we can play on these strings. The universe is a symphony of strings and the mind of God… it is cosmic music resonating through 11 dimensional hyperspace.
