Wizoo W2 verb installing?
Hi all,
I have read through the posts but has anyone managed to get W2 (full version) working on DP 4.61 and OS 10.4.7 on a G5 non intel. The demo worked fine exept for the same MAS error everyone seems to get but trying to install the full version, everything goes belly up.
The installers' AU/VST options are greyed out therefore it can't install.
Any help out there?

I had no problem installing WizooVerb W2 on my dual g4. (BTW unlike the demo, there no errors with the real W2)
Just a guess. Are you logged in as an adminstrative user?
Also I am suddenly recalling that you may need to install EVERYTHING -- in other words, you can't selectively just install the VST or AU, but you gotta install the standalone as well to get it all to work.
---
BTW I contacted M-Audio tech about that demo error when I was considering buying it thru their online form and they got back to me quickly. Very responsive. So if you are still having trouble with the install, give it a go.

I think you are correct - you have to install the standalone version and VST, but you can choose whether to install AU or RTAS or neither. In fact I remember under "Custom Install" that VST and Standalone could not be deselected - only AU and RTAS could be.emulatorloo wrote:Also I am suddenly recalling that you may need to install EVERYTHING -- in other words, you can't selectively just install the VST or AU, but you gotta install the standalone as well to get it all to work.
Also, the manual says it is better to do the authorization via the standalone version first before trying to load it into a host (of course, that is after you get it installed correctly.)
The other thing that is kind of different from other plugs I've used is that you have to download the authorization file and then open it to write the certificate to your hard drive, otherwise W2 will never open

Yes, that exciting day when I installed W2! It is all coming back to me now . . .Resonant Alien wrote:I think you are correct - you have to install the standalone version and VST, but you can choose whether to install AU or RTAS or neither. Just as an Off Topic aside -- when I told m-audio tech I was planning to upgrade to a bigger hard drive and reinstall everying thing, he said -- save the certificate, and you can reload it after you have formatted and installed to your new drive -- in other words, he said certificate is machine based, not tied to a particular hard drive or sys install. Which I thought was good!
Have not done my upgrade so I can't verify.

Thanks for all the responses.
This thing is driving me bezerkers!
I even tried to download the demo again.
I am the administrator, yes. I try to install the WizooVerbW2.mpkg and hit upgrade in the installer. It goes thru the whole thingymajig but it's not installing the AU RTAS or VST. When I go to custom install I can see those options all greyed out. Only Content adn Certify packages are available.
The components folder, I tried install the AU or any of the others there and the installer says that there is nothing to install.
Please, i'm dying to play with my new toy.

Did you try uninstalling and/or deleting the demo first? Maybe there is some kind of conflict with the actual version?wyn wrote:Thanks for all the responses.

wyn - try contacting m-audio tech thru their website. They have a support form you fill out there. I beleive they got back to me within 24 hours, maybe sooner. They were very helpful.

Seems I have solved the problem. I thought I had trashed all associated files previously installed from the demo of W2 which left some remains in various places. I simply searched the machine for any references to wizoo and trashed them. I think it was after I trashed the wizoo files in the Application Support folder in the Library that I could finally install it properly.
Thanks Resonant Alien and emulatorloo
Woohoo.

Yeah, audiomidi has a great price on that hey. The shipping cost me as much as the plug. Anyways, I think it is a great verb. Altiverb is awesome but the price... This is good value for money.
It's like good food at a good price just tastes better, innit.
