MOTU 828MK II Mic inputs.. Possible to use these for synths?

Need more inputs and thought I could use these for synths since they are XLR/TRS combo inputs.. (with phantom power turned off ofcourse).

Anyone know if this is possible and if it sounds good?

I did last weekend, sounded great.

I used two TRS cables from a Korg and kept the trim right down.
