Going to V2 killed a few of my plugins (like MasterX3) :(, and I couldn't go backwards because Poco flashing was needed to update and downgrading was impossible, but the new drivers finally solved the problem. :)

MX3 was one of the many plugs Unicorners had trouble with.

Phew! Good news; thanks.
Feelin' a little braver...

I can't see any point, quite frankly.
OK, OK; you talked me into it! :D

They've taken the TCAU link I was concerned about on page 1 down:

http://www.tcelectronic.com/media/TCAU135.dmg

Hopefully now they can get it right?
The link used to simply access TC AU 1.3.05, even 'though it read "TC AU 1.3.7". Duh.
Any wonder they're under the microscope here?

Hang on; let me see if I can do it... Unga, Bunga... Unga, Bunga...
How was that? lol:
Haven't been able to find the latest TC AU installer.
It's still not up there.
If it's not included in the installer, we should probably wait.

I won't risk running the demos, 'though.
Haven't seen the installer yet... may have to remove plugs manually...

Later tonight... report back tomorrow... slipping into guinea pig mode... deep breaths...

TCAU 1.3.7 is included with the installer for TC 2.0.1.23 (seriously, how many decimal points do you NEED in a software version number?) you can uncheck the 'demo/optional' plug-ins, which is what I did, considering I have PCI mkI and can't run them anyway. I suggest you remove the plugs manually before you run the installer. The last beta version I had to install the demo plugs just to get the normal ones to work, and this intstaller didn't get rid of them. So I've got redundant 'previous' versions of the demo plugs on my system still and have to wade through them in DP to get at the ones I can actually use.

Like you said, the plug-ins haven't changed one bit in behaviour or GUI since about version 1.6 so it's debateable whether it's worthwhile 'updating' if your system works.

Wow, thanks Cliffo! I've been watchin' the TC site for nothing.
Oh, just remembered we were watching the site for nothing anyway!

One of life's great mysteries, I agree. :D

Yeah, the manual delete thing.
It's always a worthwhile precaution for me.
I even do it for DP upgrades, especially seeing as I keep my MAS plugs in "category" folders and the installers have NEVER found them.

Hey, maybe the installer doesn't get rid of them 'cause it's looking for redundant plugs, but, as we've noted, they've been the same since time immemorial!

Well, the other day
you wrote:"Anyone else game?........ Go on MonkeyMan, you know you want to."
I didn't even realise I had that need 'till you told me!
Also, I've found monkeys just can't help themselves... push buttons!

Thanks for everything, Cliffo... off to install... Cheers.

I installed 2.0.0.23 last night...
1) Audio recorded but "greyed out" upon stopping transport.
2) MasterX3 (again) plays up. This time it wont even open its window, let-alone pass audio!
3) I followed the procedure you suggested, but there is no option to install your PCIMkII bundle without copping all the demos! I installed the demos, removed them and ran DP.
I realised I should have re-run the TC AU scan app as soon as DP started loading; the AU scanner tested all of them somehow!
I quit DP, re-scanned the plugs and tried again. No go.
I ran the PoCo app and tried various settings. No go.
Hi Monkey Man - I pulled this over from the other thread.

Have you got the 'non-beta' 2.0.1.23 from the TC site? That's the one that's working for me. I'm also still stuck with all my useless DEMO plugs which come up in DP when I go to put a plugin on. I've deleted them from the VST plug-in folder so I suppose I could run the TCAU patcher again, but, well... it's working at the moment and I'm loathe to mess with it.

Most would agree that 1.96 is far more stable than the recent 2.00.

thanks
2 was working for my on my dual g4.

I upgraded to 2.01 and the interface to several of the plugs just disappeared -- that is, a white rectangle where the UI used to be. They seemed to still function, but no way to adjust anything.

I removed everything and went back to 1.96 for the time being. (couldn't find the old 2 download.)

It's not like they added anything significant to version 2 anyway!

This happened to me too. Forgot to put that one in my list!
Thanks, looman.

Thank you for saving me the trouble, Cliffo. Sorry I had no luck finding the thread myself.
It's pathetic, I know. Good old Apple "Mail" coughed it up and it was the first click of the day...
Cliffo wrote:Have you got the 'non-beta' 2.0.1.23 from the TC site? That's the one that's working for me.
The previous (shakey, of course) version I was running was the v2.0.b21
beta.
At least the GUI problem wasn't there...
 Just checked the extensions folder... 2.0.1 b23...
The date I'd recorded for this file was 2006-07-07.
If TC's put a new one up since, this may help, as you say Cliffo.
Anyway, the old 2k lightnin' connection's chugging away now, and should take care of it in, oh, about a week. :D

Scan away, dude. The patcher's never caused a problem for me.
Any time I suspect DP or PoCo could do with a reminder of what's where, I scan. It's sort of worked like trashing DP's prefs for me...
I've tended to lump it in with Cycling '74's "Pluggo AU Scan" application, which I got in the habit of using 'cause every time you altered the contents of your Pluggo VST folder, DP wouldn't know until the app "told it"!?
I only tried the demo when it came out, but isn't this how Fxpansion's VST to AU Adapter worked? Any change meant re-scanning, methinks.
Of course, repairing permissions after installing pushes my buttons too, as it's a similar pattern. :D

Oh, yeah, I hope you don't mind my taking the liberty with the "Cliffo" thing.
We're Aussies. It's quicker to type.
If you don't like it, I'll change 'cause...
I'm an Aussie. I'll learn to type quicker.

No worries mate. Throw another prawn (cause we don't actually call them 'shrimp') on the barbie. It's what they used to call me at high school.

BTW - I trashed the DP AU thingo today and when DP rescanned all the AU plugs, all the PoCo plugs came up with the message "Passed but may degrade performance" - what is that supposed to mean? I checked them and all the plugs work, but now I'm nervous again.

Thanks, ya dag.
Don't we have prawns 'cause they're big, and shrimps are, well, Prawn-Heads?

What, Prawn-Head?
Hey, better I put words into your mouth than, er, prawns!

"Passed but may degrade prawnformance" in my experience translates to:

1) "When things get shakey, this plug gets flakey"
or
2) "Ditch this plug unless you're in love."

Funny, methinks, but true.
4 times out of 5, the offending plug's been worth removing.
