It looks like LM is only now shipping. I'm not sure how newrigel got it so early. A beta tester maybe? (...a shill maybe? :D )

...Actually, Brad it might be best for you to not post here as "BradLyons". Every one of your posts inspires more skepticism than useful info from other users. It just adds to the noise. ...this thread a perfect example.
I spoke to my sales rep at Sweetwater who stated that the projected release date is August 7th.
I wonder if kvraudio knows something that Sweetwater doesn't or vice versa?

BradLyons wrote:Sorry guys, I came here offering input (and searching for your's) for a new product that is due to be out later this year. I'm one of a very few that have actually seen and used it. To my knowledge outside of Focusrite, only about (8) guys have seen and played with this myself included. It is ONLY supporting the Mac in its first release, therefore I see this as a HUGE option for DP users. Speaking of DP, no I do not use it on a daily basis in my own studio...but that doesn't mean I don't use it. We (Sweetwater) have an EXTREMELY TIGHT relationship with Motu so yes, I am in the know of what's coming and what's to come. We do a lot of Beta testing here, even helping to design product that eventually comes to market. I get to see the latest MOTU hardware and software well before the public has ever heard of it. SO I come here offering information that might be useful to some, I'm not trying to sell you anything. If you don't want my input, I just wont post and then you won't have this kind of information AT ALL :-)

Hey Brad,

I already have the Waves native SSL bundle, which I like. How does it stack up against the sound of Duende, and does the Liquid Mix sound just as good if not better. I don't know if you've had the opportunity to do an A/B with Duende and Liquid Mix emulations of the SSL eq/comps. If you have please report.

Geez....cut Brad some slack, will ya???? Is he a salesman? Sure. Is he being deceptive or sneaky, trying to pretend to be just another Unicornation poster? No. His signature is signed with "Sweetwater", and anyone who has been here for very long knows Brad and knows he works for Sweetwater. We also know that he has his own studio is a very knowledgable guy when it comes to pro audio, aside from selling the stuff. Does he use DP and a Mac? No. Does he try to hide that fact? No - his signature clearly states he uses a Sweetwater PC and Pro Tools. Do you have to use DP and a Mac to have some information that might be useful to someone using a DP and Mac? Does he have a bias toward certain gear (Focusrite...)? Sure, but don't we all? Sweetwater also sells other gear, so Brad could easily come on here everyday and yammer on about whatever. But from what I have seen, he is pretty conservative in what he comes here to talk about, and it usually is something that is pretty cool, and something that is related to DP, even if indirectly.

Maybe the problem with the post is that it is in the "Digital Performer" category, and granted, it is not directly related to DP. Maybe it should have been in the "General Recording" forum, but, really, why get so bent about it? We know Brad is a Sales guy at Sweetwater, so if you don't want to be bothered by his "commercials", then don't click on a post that he wrote. It's that easy. Otherwise, read the post and get whatever useful information you can from it. If you need to apply the "a sales guy wrote this" filter while reading it, then do so and process the information accordingly.

I rest my case.

Look at this thread, it's ridiculous. How many posts are OT for the subject line? I'm really interested in info on this product, but instead, as is usual when ever he posts, it's just post after post after post about Brad - mostly in support of him, but it adds up the same to me: a bunch of useless noise. If he simply didn't post as "BradLyons" the forum would be well served.

Dont get offended, I to am a person who has felt your posts out of place. I just chose not to speak up abut it (except in my sly periodically subtle ways)

You dont use DP with regularity. The only thing you offer is Product information with a big Avatar inspiring us to call sweetwater. I have a sales person at Sweetwater, like most here. He sends me emails. He isnt a Massive Pro Tools user who visits the DP forum doing subtle advertising.

So Again dont be offended. Perhaps if we say this DP rig of yours i your signature we wouldnt have this opinion. Sorry I am saying we when I should be saying I. The mere fact that someone has spoken, I show my self by piggy backing.

Enuff said...... You get the point.

And I do agree if people wanna discuss 3rd party stuff not DIRECTLY related to the functionality of DP, please use another forum. Like the off topics forum.

Liquid mix has nothing to do with how to make DP work better. It is an addon. Not the program itself.

Perhaps if it was coming from a member who doesnt have a Sales avatr it would be accepted without any gripes whatsoever...... Hmmmmm.......

How many Studio engineers on here advertise their services? Or hint at it? None I know of and I read this thing everyday with regularity. We just share information. Perhpas changing your moniker with all that protools gear (you said you use DP from time to time.....), deleting a direct link to your personal Sales website, etc.......

Just suggestions and my chance to finally rant. LOL. Moving along.... Liquid Mix is much better than the original Sinitifex (price wise) I played with the original about 6 years ago. Nice pc, and at $799USD it sounds fun :)

Phew!

I had felt so bad about my input on this "3rd party" issue that I'd deleted most of what I'd written. (There was another thread somewhere too...)
I know none of us means any harm, and I'm sure I did all I could to be fair and polite. :)
However, Brad appears to have been offended and I felt very much responsible, as might MLC. Dunno though; I suspect MLC's pretty tough. Me? I'm just a pussy!

Anyway, sorry Brad!
Hopefully we can find a home for you and sway you towards the Unicorn!
