Best Mac system for DP/Kontakt being used live...

I am making the jump to softsamplers for a national tour of a musical and am trying to setup a system to use Kontakt and DP live. At times I will be using DP to play tracks, but for the most part I will be using Kontakt to play samples live. (While I intend to load quite a few sounds into RAM, I will be using the samples to fill in the brass and percussion in a pit orchestra, so there will likely be only a few sounds layered together being played with fairly low polyphony.)

I was wondering what would be the best computer setup for this? I know the more RAM the better, but how much would I NEED? Should 4GB get the job done? Will the hard drive speed or anything else make much of a difference in latency or stability? Do you have any recommendations for me, especially knowing this will be used in live situations? Thanks!

4 GB should be more than adequate. I have 4 GB in my G5 and have yet run into any problems... But since your going live are you racking up a desktop or using a laptop (in which there's no laptop that can handle 4 GB yet.. 2 is the limit) so you have to mean a desktop. I've heard that the new MBP work really well for this...

Hey, thanks for the info! Since your system is so similar to what I am needing, is there anything I should know regarding hardware OR software that will help decrease latency or improve stability? (Having to rent the system, and not familiar with setup.) Also, is DP 5 buggy or less stable than 4.61?
