Syncing a movie halfway through - Possible?

Post by bobdaly »

I am scoring for tv, to an online final cut. When the project is done, I will run the sequences I've created as a song and bounce the whole thing to disc. But I'd like to be able to watch the portion of the movie while scoring each sequence. I know I can delay the start time of the movie by using the Set Movie Start Time function in the mini menu of the movie window, but while creating a new sequence, can I tell DP to advance forward, and start the movie playback from time code 1;02;03.17, at my bar 1, beat 1? ie. I need bar 1 to to play a scene in the movie, not the whole movie from the beginning, when I m working on different sequences.
Help...

Hi Bob, you and I seem to be talking on lots of threads today.

So, here's how you do that: You set your SEQUENCE start time to 1:02:03;17 (using the example you gave below) and leave the movie starting at 00:00:00;00.

Here's where I show how stupid I am. Where/how do I change my sequence start time?

Technically I guess DP calls it "chunk start time" if you want to look it up in the manual. Pull out the little "tray" from the top window, the one with tempo control and timecode optoins, and there's a "start times..." button.
