I recently upgraded to DP 5 (5.01) from DP 4.6. Had problem accessing DAE 'til I performed a clean install of both OS X, DP 5 and Pro Tools 7.1. DP is now working under DAE but now my patch names are working half way. For example, the patch names for my Roland JV-1080 shows only the internal patches but all my Expansion Board patches are not showing up any longer. I launched the Expansion Board Setup app, entered the appropriate Exp sets but DP 5 does not reflect this... Again, only the Factory patches show up and therefore I can't access any of the expansion patches. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.

Had the exact same problem a while ago. It's something to do with Pro Tools 'getting in first' and hijacking your device patch-names. I think i solved it by going into the library and getting rid of the MIDI patch thing that Pro Tools created and then running the DP expansion board setup utility again. Had no problems after that and all my expansion boards come up fine in DP now.
I think it's in the library/audio folder somewhere (MIDI Patch Names perhaps?). It was a while ago.

Yes, I did notice that Pro Tools had its ownership on a couple of instrument patches within the Exp Board Setup app. I did what you suggested and it worked!! All my patch names are back from DP 4.61 state! Thanks for the tip Mr_Clifford. You the man!!! Now back to work as a musician, not as a computer tech..
