Well not exactly.... it's "DYNAMIC CONVOLUTION" which can sample time variants. Dynamic Convolution utilizes vast processing power to sample the effect of a classic processor on a series of audio pulses, at many different gain settings and frequencies... Altiverb is a "Convolution" plug-in... Sintefex has worked for a long period with Focusrite to mold Sintefex's patented Dynamic Convolution (tm) Technology into an affordable package for the modern recording industry... This is actually old technology. But it's nice to see it really coming down in price!
I see that you have the Liquid Mix in your equipment list.
How do you like it?

Love it!
It's really intuitive and it does follow your track assignments... (I never really touch the actual box though) I LOVE mixing in a DAW and don't miss faders @ all. Having to use patch bays and such are NOT missed and when I have an idea I can translate the thought processes alot easier than having to go patch something in and do the assignments etc. I do have to agree with Splinter in this debate of "consoles vs DAWs" because the patch bay matrix is a pain, when in a DAW it's all in the background and your focuses can be where their needed... @ the MIX!

What, you like mixing everything within DP? Haven't you read the long thread about external bussing your mixes? You can stand not having an actual patch bay with a bunch of spaghetti wired everywhere?...:-).

Don't forget Brad is a salesman. He provides some good info, but ALL the equipment he sells is on his list.

Scanning this thread it doesn't actually look like anyone is using LM w DP yet (are they? - looks like newrigel has merely been reading the promo literature) I'm looking forward to the reports though.

Perhaps it is time for a new section (Jim?) for third party enhancements? Heck, we could even move the Viagra spam there!

Seriously, with MOTU VIs and hardware having their own section, it seems that posts like this DESERVE their own section. And some of us deserve not to have to wade thru them... Nothing personal. I;ve dealt with Brad and he's a really nice guy. Very helpful and informed. But I see a day where West LA, Sweetwater, Music 123, Guitar Center, Joe's Bar & Grill, et al, will be posting items such as this and it would really be nice to keep them seperate from DP issues. Heck, I;ve had DP issues moved becasue the discussion went in a different direction. Of course, THIS post will probably end up in "gripes" now. But I suggest a new section for 3rd party "concerns."

I third that, and glad someone said something. He's a PC/Pro Tools guy, anyway (no offense, Brad).

I say give the guy a break as long as we all know he's a sales guy and it's relevant to DP. We're big boys. We can take stuff with a grain of salt. We shouldn't ostracize him just cause he's in sales. He's just as entilted to be here as the rest of us and it's not as if he's selling Amway.

I personally am interested in the Liquid Mix and would like to make an informed purchase of this product. It sounds great and if it can generate some discussion here when it's released by other DP users and those "in the know" I welcome that. I don't mind having the inside scoop in advance either.

I am not suggesting we remove his post or even that it is not relevant, just that it is not really about DP, it is about a 3rd party enhancement and should have a unique section, just as MOTU VI's now have. Certainly MachFive is as relevant to DP as Waves plug-ins, etc.

Now if you have a specific problem in DP using these plugs, then yes, put them in the DP area. But if i am trying to sell you an M-Audio keyboard, SoundHack, or Miss Grundy's Elemtary Music plug-in for DP, it really is a bit out of context to place that in what is essentially a DP self-help area.

Again, all I am suggesting is a seperate area for 3rd party enhancements, not chastising Brad for selling stuff. I buuy stuff from him! I like the guy and the company and will still send them my $$$ from time to time. But just as I don't want to see a commercial in the middle of my composing sessions, I also don;t want to see a commercial in the middle of my browsing thru a technical DP area of this BBS.

I agree. I just didn't get the impression he was trying to sell Liquid Mixes and I don't think it's fair to him to assume everytime he posts here he's trying to sell something.

That is getting too deep for me to "research" but the point, I think, is made. Whether he is selling or not is not the issue (unless Jim wants to keep the board free of advertising, which I would certainly be in support of.) OTOH, most of us want the scoop on thel atest info and having a specific area to find it would be handy as well.

Okay, okay... you don't have to be smart asses about it, I'm just giving him the benefit of the doubt, the same way I'd want others to do of me.

Prejudice sucks in all its forms.

Prejudice? Isn't that a little harsh? I mean, not wanting to see an ad is hardly what I'd call prejdice... It's not like I am saying "salesmen" should be banned. And even if I did, THAT would still not be prejudice.

We are simply 'targeting his opportunity' to make more business in his own little area. I would think he would welcome that.
