Mach5 crashes my computer / Need urgent Help please

Post by Heiko »

I have just purchased a new Motu MachFive Software Sampler Version 1.00 for Windows.

When I try to install the Easy Install Version at the end it crashes my computer.

So I tried to install just the VST version and it follows all the way through. However, when I try to open Cubase SL3, it keeps crashing the program and keeps rebooting my computer.

I have the ILok ( registered ) installed and everything else I can think of, even tried to install the Upgrade from the Motu Website to Version 1.2 but still the same keeps happening.

Can someone please help me , as I am very frustrated and dont know what is wrong with the software ???? Or maybe my computer is not compatible ?

Here are my specifications from my Computer :

AMD Athlon ( tm ) 64 Processor. 1.87 GHZ and 2 GB RAM , running Cubase SL 3.1 and the Soundcard is Creamware Scope 4 Project card.

I have contacted Motu Tech Support several times, but no reaction from their part.

Any Help is very much appreciated.

Thanks Heiko :(

Thanks for the message Shan. The problem is, that I don't even get the whole thing started . So I havent been able to use the Mach5 sampler at all, because everytime I start Cubase SL3, it goes through the whole motion of initialising and then it just crashes. Its only with the Mach5 Sampler installed it does that. As soon as I unistall the sampler everything works fine, so I know that it must be that software. Very frustrating. I am not sure if it is not compatible with AMD Athlon 64 bit ? It doesnt say anywhere though and all my other software programs applications like Cubase SL work fine.

i had this problem briefly, it's a problem with your dongle. after the ilok is registered corrrectly, it's all good from there.. ez pz.

I too had this problem very recently following a new build (AMD X2 and Gigabyte nForce3).

Exactly the same problem as you describe, with the end of the installation process causing a reboot (during 'Updating Registry' - the dongle hadn't even been inserted by this stage) and then one time I did complete installation, the system rebooted as Cubase SE opened (during the Mach5 stage - a big give away of the problem!).

As an experiment, I took off XP Service Pack 2 and reverted back to Service Pack 1. Unbelievably, this did the trick. All fine!

Since I don't use the DAW for any networking except FX Teleport, I left it at Service Pack 1...

Maybe worth a try?

Hi and thanks.

I got rid of the software as it started to annoy me. I heard that the software has alot of bugs, but wouldnt believe it. I do now, so no Mach5 for me anymore and Id rather get a hardware sampler , heaps better. Thanks for the help anyways.

Problem launching Cubase

Post by johnsbaker »

Yeah, I think there is a problem with MachFive and Cubase, from reading many posts. I am running Cubase LE on Mac. iLok dongle checks out OK, and MachFive runs fine under DP and Live 6. However, when launching Cubase LE, program stops launching when the "initializing MachFive" text appears as VST plug-ins are installing. Dang!!! If I take the dongle and skip MachFive, it launches. Double dang!!!
