Considering Vista is still in beta, I'm guessing not soon. And most drivers that work with XP work on the Vista beta.

The drivers do not work here, The XP 64bit or otherwise. I am running the 64bit version of Vista.

Now is the time to get started on those drivers. SX4 is coming in the fall and will be 64bit and Vista compatible and that is what i am shooting for.

You CAN run 32 bit apps on Vista 64 but you have to have 64bit Vista drivers for all of your hardware.

vista postponed. so is your driver

I would guess not terribly soon. Motu waited a full year before they coughed up the XP 64 bit driver. Meanwhile I had a fully functional 64 bit machine with a mostly fucntional 64 bit os. BTW I still cant even get teh 64 bit driver to install.

If I were MOTU. I'd wait till Vista was Gold Master. Not Beta. Why Develop for a Beta that will change and is not Guranteed.

most likely any changes that happen to Vista between beta and retail versions are not such low level things that affect drivers. I would think they are more detail things like the appearance.
Again keep in mind that though WINTEL is the majority of the total market for PCs, it is minority of MOTUs market. Hence the short shrift that WINTEL drivers appear to get. Which leaves me ina quandry. It costs about the same to switch to a more WINTEL friendly interface as it does to get a Mac which is more friendly with my 828! hmmmm.

not to mention the cost of the new software and the learning curve for that and that the MAC are still not as powerful as an equivalent priced INTEL, oh sorry, they ARE intel now!

My observation is that MOTU are missing an opprtunity to reach a much wider market by staying with this niche machine. Better Win support and drivers would be a good start. Can't be that hard now, guys.
